'Hiraeth' bud vase

Hiraeth.

This beautiful Welsh word refers to that nostalgia, longing, yearning for something that may be intangible - perhaps a place at a certain time with certain people.

C.S. Lewis thought it was a sort of divine homesickness; a longing that could not be satisfied in this world. German has the word 'sehnsucht' for the same sort of thing. Whatever we call it, it's something most humans have experienced.

I don't know how to describe this gorgeous glaze combination. It's so pretty - lilacs, sage, creams and blue inside.
